Washington State has a 'budget-based' property tax system, so the taxing districts budgets and voter approved measures determine how much you pay. Simply put, when values decline levy rates increase, when values increase, levy rates decrease. Click Here to learn more about levies and our property tax system.


In 2010, 33 of the 44 taxing district requests to voters for funding was passed by voters.


The decrease in total residential assessed value county-wide started with the 2008 Jan. 1st assessment and reflected the decline in the market in 2007. This value was used to calculate taxes owing in 2009 according to state law.

Much of the property information that may be helpful to you is available for your inspection at our front counter. This includes:

  • Property characteristics
  • Property assessed value history
  • Property sales
  • Name and address of taxpayer
  • Maps

You may obtain a photocopy of any of this information on a particular property for a small fee.

Computers are available in the Assessor's lobby area. These computers provide current, up to date information regarding taxpayer name and address, assessed values, legal descriptions and other assessment related information.

If you have questions about a particular property, please visit our Property Information web page where you can get information on a property by searching for a specific parcel by parcel number or by the situs (street) address. 

Parcel Maps

If you would like to view or print a parcel map for a particular property, please visit our Parcel Maps web page. The maps can be retrieved by entering the Township, Range and Section.

Data Extracts

Selected data extracts are available for download from our ftp site. These extracts contain records for the entire county and may take specialized software to be utilized. Please see the Assessor Data page for a listing of what is available
